The subject of the fourth annual lecture this year is “Rapidly Growing Indian Economy and its European Implications” and will be held on Friday, the 16th of April 2009 at 17.00 hours at Kasteel de Wittenburg. Under this broad subject, Mr. Jean-Joseph Boillot will speak on major trends in Indian economy and their relevance for the Dutch and European economies. We believe that such an analysis should be interesting for the Dutch companies interested in doing business with India.

Mr. Jean-Joseph Boillot is a renowned French economist who specializes in the interaction between Europe and the Asian economies, with a special interest for India. He is an economic advisor at the Centre d'Etudes Prospectives et d'Informations Internationales (CEPII) and co-founder of the Euro-India Economic and Business Group (EIEBG).

In January 2007, the NICCT initiated a new series of annual lectures by prominent economists on “The Prospects for the Indian Economy”. Mr. Mark Cliffe, the Chief Economist and Global Head of Research ING Financial Markets delivered the 1st Annual NICCT Lecture. In 2008, Mr. Wim Suyker, a senior economist working in the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB), gave the second lecture and economists Mr. Joost van den Akker and Mr. Ashwin Matabadal of Rabobank gave the third lecture in 2009.
